A Little Bit About me

My career in New York State government began in 1983 working for the NYS Executive Chamber for five years. I then moved to the NYS Council on Children and Families in 1989, where I worked for 30 years until retiring in 2018.

Since retiring, I have worked part-time as an Independent Contractor to the NYS Office of Children and Family Services on multiple projects and subcontracted with Cogent Technologies to work with the NYS Liquor Authority an the NYS Office of Cannabis Management. I am a certified NYS Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE).

When I am not working, I am spending time with family or playing pickleball, an obsession that started shortly after retiring.

Experience

Responsibilities

I played a leadership role in the development, maintenance and expansion of the Kids’ Well-being Indicators Clearinghouse (KWIC – nyskwic.org) and the NYS Multiple Systems Navigator (MSNavigator.org) websites. I also served as the agency webmaster with oversight of seven agency websites and a total redesign of the Council on Children and Families website in 2007.

For many years, I performed all the layout and graphic design of the annual NYS KIDS COUNT data books and data products, as well as developed and maintained a complex database to manage all the KIDS COUNT data. This is when I first began creating maps using ESRI ArcGIS software.

I served as an integral team member and project coordinator on all IT projects for the Council. My work expanded to include development of complex mapping applications and data visualizations using Tableau and ESRI software
